The III stage ”Impact on Politics and Practise” of Equal iniciative is coming to an end

The stage III of the Project “Ištiesk ranką” (Engl. “Give me a Hand”), which began on 4 June 2007, is going to an end at the moment. The DP “Ištiesk ranką” is part of the Thematic Network (TN) II, called ”Provision of New Opportunities to the Persons, who Failed to Acquire the Qualification, which has Demand on the Market or who have Lost it and have Difficulties Integrating into Society or Labour Market” implemented a big part of their activities during a year.

The training material for the target group – NGO and for the university teachers, who are responsible for the development of curricula for the social workers and teachers, was developed. There were organized 5 training courses for this target groups, during first quarter of 2008. Afterwards, the DP “Ištiesk ranką” organized individual consultations about the social mentoring model opportunities in adapting it for the different target groups, shared the good practice examples for the broader society. 

The participants got the benefit during the trainings:

• Determination of the possibilities of the module application in the other areas;
• Introduction with the social mentoring model, which helps to overcome social and personal problems;
• Introduction with exhaustive social mentoring model methodic: raising and achieving the aims, benefits for the mentor and mentee, trainings, social dialog and so on;
• Possibility to get an individual expert consultations about the model adaptation in certain organization;

 

The DP has trained 57 NGO representatives and 18 representatives from universities and colleagues.  There were a very big interest in training, because the DP “Ištiesk ranką“ has gathered much more bigger training groups as it was expected. In reference to big interest of the seminars for the universities teachers, there was new activity involved into the project – assistance for the universities teachers in preparing the curricula complemented with social mentoring model.

There were publicised information on the model application opportunities in the international thematic network website http://www.donnepolitica.org, for the aim to spread out the information about the model, to find the partner from other countries, give the consultations and so on.

The documenting of the new solutions and their presentation for the TN management group in cooperation with the II TN partners was done, for the purpose to expand the usage possibilities of the social mentoring model.

Two round table discussions with the target group and the stakeholders will be done in Vilnius and Kaunas in July and August.
