Activities of the DP “Ištiesk ranka” Stage III “Impact on Politics and Practise” The stage III of the Project “Ištiesk ranka” ( Engl. “Give me a Hand”), which began on 4 June 2007, is gaining momentum. The DP “Ištiesk ranka” is part of the Thematic Network (TN) II, called ”Provision of New Opportunities to the Persons, who Failed to Acquire the Qualification, which has Demand on the Market or who have Lost it and have Difficulties Integrating into Society or Labour Market” The implementation of several activities began, i.e. the training material for the target group (NGO) was developed and at the end of January 2008 one day training and introduction seminars on the application and use of the social mentoring method for addressing the problems of various socially excluded groups will be held in Vilnius, Kaunas, and Anykšciai. The DP “Ištiesk ranka“, which has successfully adapted this method in the area of employment of the long-term unemployed, is making efforts to apply this effective method in other areas and to disseminate the good practise to the wider society. After the New Year a new activity shall start: introduction of social mentoring model to universities with the aim to include the solution into the education programs for social workers and teachers. The seminars shall be conducted to the university teachers, who are training social workers and teachers as well to the people, who are responsible for the development of curricula, and to the department managers; the questionnaire for learning the opinion of social workers, teacher training curricular developers and teachers regarding the possibilities for the module application in the development of curricular for social workers and teacher training shall be developed. It is intended to publicise the information on the model application opportunities in the international thematic network websites. It is also planned to participate in the international events, related to II TN activities. The English version of the internet website www.istieskranka.lt is already developed. Two round table discussions with the target group and the stakeholders, development and presentation of suggestions and/or documentation, enabling the transferability of the innovative solution and implementation in the long-term perspective in cooperation with the TN experts are planned. The documenting of the new solutions and their presentation in the approved publishing format and structure schedule for the TN management group in cooperation with the II TN partners shall be performed, the working meetings and seminars, external evaluation of the project activities and other events shall be organized. The end of the Project Stage III is planned for 31 July 2007.
